The Bwog
Midterms Solidarity

One particularly creative procrastinator just sent Bwog a photo essay of his Butler abode. We support you, procrastinator, and may your efforts bring calm (followed by debilitating panic!) to those of your kind.

it's kinda funny that bwog's like, "HAHA! We were sent this letter, you can squint and try to read it, but screw you, it's our letter and our webpage formatting is so much better than your approval of our post."

helvetica isn't so bad, other than the fact that it's very common. comic sans is just plain ugly and is often used inappropriately.

If you're studying so hard for midterms that your life is spent in Butler, you really need to get your shit together. It's been SIX weeks of classes. Yes, only six.

A) Midterms aren't hard. If you do poorly, just cry to the professor and they'll count your final and homework for more.

B) In the time it takes the average Columbia student to whine about exams and papers, they could have written their entire thesis.

The answer: quit your bitching, get to work, and get off BWOG until you've finished everything.

speech needs to be a balance between silly and coherent. this one is leaning too much towards the former.

who could ever keep up their concentration for 30 hours? do 3 hours max, then go chill for awhile! you'll get more done in the end

I never understand people who are like this. My first two years I think I was in awe of them, believing them to be working so much harder than I was, and so much more dedicated as well.

Now I realize that, like many things here, it is all just a ploy, a ruse, a stunt, and imposture, if you will--no one here really needs to spent his much time in the library, and certainly no one here needs to take his stuffed animals, security blanket, and family photos along with him (see finals). The complaining and listing of hours "in battle" is just a ploy as well--like the mythical "starving artist" figure, they all think telling us how much they've suffered will make them produce better work.

A 15 pg research paper isn't hard...a little bit of time in JSTOR/Columbia's collection of journals and the stacks is all you need. It should only take 1-2 hours to research, 4-5 to write, and maybe another 1-2 to edit...tops.

No pity for the person who leaves the research paper to 12 hours before its due. None whatsoever.

why do columbia students like bitching about work so much? especially premed students. you chose that shit!

shit. It does NOT take 4-5 hours to write a decent paper. What kind of shit are you writing about? I presume, in the end, that you are producing shitty papers.
