The Academic Awards Committee is seeking new members. Columbia College students from all majors are welcome!
The committee is a student-led group of 15-20 members, representing a cross-section of classes and majors within CC. Every year, the AAC oversees the selection process for the Lionel Trilling and Mark Van Doren awards. The Trilling Award recognizes a book from the past year by a Columbia author that best exhibits the standards of scholarship. The Van Doren Award honors a Columbia professor for his or her commitment to undergraduate instruction. This process culminates in the selection of the winners in the spring.
