For those of you unfamiliar with the ins and outs of the Columbia creative community or a certain 2002 HBO miniseries, Project Bluelight is a CUArts/CCSC-sponsored short-film contest in which screenwriters submit scripts and the selected material is then made into a movie. Project Bluelight the brainchild of Michael Molina and Jeff Schwartz, both CC '10. The idea for the largest (with a budget of $2500) undergraduate film production project began in the beginning of the school year, when Molina and Schwartz proposed the concept to CUArts and CCSC, as well as other student groups. "Everyone we took it to was just immediately like, 'Yes.'" explained Molina. The founders hope that Project Bluelight will become an annual event at Columbia, and both plan to stay on next year.

Caralyn Spector writes in that if you email cuarts@columbia.edu by 5PM, you'll get free tickets to the Mozart and Bruckner extravaganza happening tonight at Carnegie Hall. The show starts at 8PM, with a pre-concert lecture starting at 7PM. This is highly recommended for Music Hum students, as well as anyone who's never heard a Bruckner symphony before (they're playing the 5th).

blazeshirtNSOP Orientation Leaders received an e-mail this morning from a distressed committtee member regarding those colored shirts from Wednesday's first-year battle.

"I have a bit of bad news. CUArts' biggest donor was walking out of Low Wednesday night, after meeting with Mr. Jeff Sachs himself, and saw all the new students standing around Low plaza wearing their fabulous CUArts BlaZe t-shirts. He thought it was so cool, that he wants a BlaZe shirt himself. Large, any color. The bad news is....we are out of shirts. So, if you have a large shirt, and don't want or need it, please, please, please return it to 505 Lerner. It would really help us out, and make a big difference to CUArts."

Update: A T-shirt has been found!
